Nanay's First

Yesterday, I took a trip to my hometown to see my family. It was fun as always. I had quality time with my elder sister over a bottle of beer. She taught me how to cook baye-baye, Bayawan City’s delicacy. It’s quite a hard work, and I feel bad I had to leave before she could finish it. She’s going to have my mom bring the finished product here in my apartment later today. I’m quite positive she’s going to make great-tasting baye-baye; she’s always been a good cook.

Anyway, my mom and I are bound for Manila tomorrow morning, her 63rd birthday, and we’re going to take with us the delicacy (with kilos of tabios) and distribute it among relatives there. I’m excited about the trip, especially for my mom. It’s going to be her two major firsts: first plane ride and first time to be in Manila. She’s excited to go to places. I can only hope it’s all worth it. She’s been disappointed about her Zamboanga City trip earlier this year, and I don’t want her to be disappointed twice, especially not on her birthday.

While there, we are to meet Mayeth in Laguna, some relatives in Caloocan, a few in Navotas, and my Besz’ mom in Makati. Then we’re to go to Baclaran or Divisoria to buy textiles for her sewing. I also plan to take her to MOA. We have 4 days to do all these, and I could only hope everything will turn out well. Ta-ta!
