When all else fails, try music.

I was digging deep into my old treasure box when found this precious SG Wanna Be CD album given to me by one of my Korean students ages ago. Although I don't know what the lyrics meant, I never needed subtitling to feel the music. (That's probably because I am an avid fan of Korean drama series. You know that feeling when the OST and scene go too well together that they get stuck in your head forever?)

Anyway, every time I listen to most of the songs in this album, my heart melts. The songs help me transcend the paralyzed part of my inner self, inspiring me to move forward. I remember how helpful this thing was when I lost a very important person back in 2007 —  it was my song therapy.

Finding this CD is one of the random things I thank God for today. Now I have another refuge whenever my heart feels heavy again. Who needs manicure, pedicure, or shopping to de-stress when you have a beautiful music like this? If you want to listen to these beautiful, therapeutic songs I'm talking about, check out the South Korean ballad trio's album, The Sentimental Chord.

I must add that to appreciate good music, one does not only hum along — it is important to engage in it, allowing its soothing tune or lyrics to remedy your wounded heart and heal your broken soul. Before you know it, you're already reconnected with your inner self, feeling renewed and healed.

Try listening to one now, and see for yourself that when all other broken-heart remedies fail, good music does the trick.
